I have not removed the chip but read it with clip attached, Will this be ok. The Chip is a MX25L12873F. Can you please sen me the patched file? This is for the Lenovo ThinkPad P51 model.

Remove all battery and CMOS battery
press F1 to enter setup: password 1234
wait 20sec or more.
Enter any ID to hardware Id.
Press 2x space bar when asked.
Turn off the computer.
and restore your original bios .
Enjoy.
If 2x 5beep, it's normal.
I didn't do checksum but it must light up anyway.
Wait minimum 30sec before screen logo light on. Must turn on/off several times by itself

i have a problem when its says enter ID: I enter any key and returns with invalid key. what do I do now? Please help?
I can send you another P51 file to patch a backup which I made before flashing the patched file.

I get different Hardware ID: every time I reboot, after entering key, it pops up with invalid key then freezes.
